SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS

NO MEETINGS!! (AS OF 8/20/2013)

I am so sad to say, that for a while, there will not be a support group meeting on Wednesday mornings or Tuesday evenings.  I have started homeschooling my oldest and will be unable to make the meetings.  This is not the end of Making Lemonade.  I am in the process of making arrangements so that I may have a morning that we can meet.  I will keep you posted.  Please stay in contact through this FB page, email and the blog:

GUEST SPEAKER WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2013, 9:30 AM at DCBDD

I am so excited to have our next special guest join us on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at our morning Making Lemonade support group meeting.

Angela Woodward, Patient Family Liaison for Integrative Pediatrics of Ohio, Dr. Allen T. Lewis, is providing a presentation called "Home Safe Home".  This topic covers better choices you can make for your home to lower toxin exposure for your family, and why this is important.  Angie has a child that is on the spectrum, which fuels her enthusiasm for helping other families.  She is knowledgeable as well as inspiring.

PTP Foundation

Pediatric Therapy Partners Foundation

Pediatric Therapy Partners Foundation is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3)organization with the goal of empowering families of children with special needs by providing educational opportunities, equipment lending, toy lending, resource library and therapy scholarships.
PROGRAMS
(1) We provide a lending library for families that consists of therapy equipment, books, videotapes and toys.

(2) We have, and continue to provide opportunities for families to listen to professionals on a variety of subjects (Biomedical Interventions, IEP's, Therapeutic Riding, Potty Training, Sensory Processing Disorders, Neurofeedback, etc.)

(3) We have a parent support group called "Making Lemonade" that meets weekly. Meetings are held the first Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00 at Pediatric Therapy Partners and on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 at Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities.  The meetings are designed to offer support and to provide information for families of special needs children/adolescents/adults.

Guiding Principles:

We believe that each child is valuable and unique.

We believe in looking at the child as a “whole” rather than parts.

We believe in empowering families for positive change through education and resources.

We believe in advocating for those that cannot advocate for themselves.

We believe that everyone deserves to live a healthy and productive life.

We believe in families helping one another; families themselves are a valuable resource.

Our hope is that through the Foundation we will make a positive impact in our community for children with special needs and their families.
